Cosmoprof North America 2014

This last week I went to Las Vegas to attend Cosmoprof North America which is organized by North American BeautyEvents LLC a joint-venture company between BolognaFiere Group and the Professional Beauty Association. The acclaimed B2B event is the only event for the beauty industry in North America that encompasses all sectors of the industry under one roof and is exclusively dedicated to business development activities.

This year I was so excited because not only would I be able to see all the new collections and previews from some amazing brands, but so many indie makers and bloggers were coming and I was going to fangirl left and right!

To kick off the event, Jen of Wonder Beauty hosted the first indie and blogger event called the Shine & Sparkle on Saturday night. Unfortunately, I was too busy trying to introduce myself to as many people as I could, that I forgot to take pictures 🙁 But don’t worry, I’ve got lots more coming right now.

Cosmoprof started off with the PBA Business Forum and the 2014 Keynote Address presented by none other than Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and one of the stars of Shark Tank.

One of the first things I had to check out was the Glossybox collaboration with Cosmoprof in their Beautique section. It’s a great way to sample some new products and do some good too! I love shopping with a charitable bent. For a suggested donation of $10, you can pick 7 of 20 featured products with the donations going to the City of Hope.

Probably one of the cutest displays at the shows came from Unwash.

I stopped by the Orly booth, and guess what? I got to meet Jeff Pink. Yup, Jeff Pink, the founder of Orly Beauty and the creator of the French manicure. I actually got to speak to him and I even told him about Serum No. 5! When he heard the brand name, he smiled and said it was a good one. Yay! Very exciting moment for me.

Oh and did I mention that as I was taking a look at the Zoya booth, I also got to see Zoya Reyzis, the ultimate Zoya fairy herself? There’s lots of new things coming, so new we can’t even talk about it, but trust, you’ll love it.

For day 2, I linked up with Jill of Glisten and Glow, Linda of Nail Vinyls, Missi of Different Dimension and Sara of Cupcake Polish to walk the floor. I wasn’t able to spend much time this day, but I was able to get some shots of China Glaze and of Naja Rickette, who by the way, was just inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records! Congrats!

Finally, on the last day, I got to meet with Karie Frost of Fear No Beauty and beauty editor of NAIL IT! Magazine. I first met Karie last year and I have to say that I adore her! She’s so fun and easy to talk to. It’s always a great way to end Cosmoprof if I get to squeeze in some time with her.

During this weekend, there was also a special indies and bloggers event hosted by Girly Bits Cosmetics and KBShimmer, but all of that awesomeness will have to be in a second post 🙂
