Abstract Rainbows and Unicorns

Happy 2 year anniversary to Serum! I have to say that I am so incredibly thankful to have even gotten this far!

For today’s mani, I was inspired by The Polish Aholic‘s holo unicorn mani atop of rainbow gradient. So I grabbed some of my favorite glow polishes and using the watercolor technique I got started (tutorial here). For this mani, I wanted a really bright and loud watercolor since I’m going for rainbows I used Awesome Blossom, Atomic Peach, Glowin’ of Eden, Solar Power, Blue Blazes, Krypton-Brite, Infrared, Indi-Glo and Ultra Violet. For the unicorn and the stars on the accent fingers (ring and pinky) I used Luxe So Good and the Lovely Magic Cut It Out Nail Vinyls. It turned out more subtle against such a vibrant background, so next time, I’d stick with lighter pastels.

What I love about this technique is that it’s so easy to do and even though I used a bunch of colors, this mani took maybe 10-15 minutes tops. The unicorn stencil and stars? Less than a minute. Gotta love something that looks hard but is a cinch to do. It’s one of my go to nail looks.
