31 Day Challenge: Red

It’s day one of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge and yay me, I made it! One down, 30 more to go… oh dear…

So for today’s prompt (red), I decided to ease myself in and do something simple. So here’s some heart french tips with a Commes des Garcons heart as the accent nail.

Colors used: Essie Blanc, Essie Snap Happy and Essie Licorice.

To do the heart french, just follow my Talonted Tips tutorial here. For the CDG heart logo, use a thin nail art brush and paint two slanted, pointed ovals and use a dotting tool for the pupils. The great thing about the CDG heart is that it’s not supposed to be perfect, but you do need to get those slanted and pointed eyes. Easy peasy right?

In addition to trying to better myself as a nail artist, I’m going to use this challenge to help build my skills at nail photography, because let’s be honest, getting that hand pose that actually feels natural to you and looks good is not as easy as it looks.
