I had these done yesterday but I was too tired to even try and transfer them onto the computer. I love this prompt because I’m a bookworm at heart. I’ll happily read sci-fi, romance, contemporary, self-helps and the classics. I mean, I read Crime and Punishment for fun. So as much of a bibliophile that I am, I’ll admit that it took some time to find a book to inspire some nail art. So, I went back to my childhood and went with Dr. Seuss.
This mani is inspired by those fun and whimsical truffula trees in The Lorax.
Colors used: Essie Rock the Boat, Zoya Josie, Zoya Pippa, Zoya Jancyn, Zoya Dana, China Glaze Spring in My Step, China Glaze That’s Shore Bright and Essie Licorice.
I started by painting the background grassy hills and sky. Using a nail art brush, I painted the base of the truffulas with a thin yellow line and added some black markings. Then for the tops I did some really messy circles using light strokes towards the edges to get that feathered look. Finally, add little tiny lines using a very light hand around the truffula tops to get that more cartoon look.
Here’s a quote from The Lorax:
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
