On July 16th, at age 13, Talia Joy Castellano earned her angel wings. Talia Joy was a wonderfully unique and brave young woman. She fought neuroblastoma and leukemia with all her heart and still remained a happy, joyful girl. She became a YouTube sensation with her makeup tutorial vids, but more than that, she fearlessly cataloged what cancer treatment was doing to her body and gave a new voice to pediatric cancer. Not many would be so open about their illness, being so vulnerable to others, but not Talia. On her Instagram, she dubbed herself “That Bald Chick.” Gotta love that. Talia Joy has done a lot in her short years, but most of all, she inspired.
To honor her memory and the impact she’s had, a lot of ladies are sporting mint manis today. Here’s mine.
I used Serum No. 5 Mint to Be with a rose and rhinestone accent mani.
I’ve decided to make this month’s charity BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, Talia Joy’s favorite charity of which she was an Ambassador and helped raise over $100,000.
Talia Joy, you’ll be missed and will continue to be an inspiration.
