One of my favorite genres of art is Post-Impressionism. I love the whispy dreaminess of Monet, Van Gogh, Degas and Tolous-Lautrec. So for this challenge, I chose one of my favorite paintings (and I’m sure one of yours too), Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
Colors used: Lacquer Lust Blue in the Face, Essie The Perfect Cover Up, Essie Blanc, Barielle Wanna Samba?, Color Club First Looks, Orly Smoked Out, OPI Dating a Royal, OPI Christmas Gone Plaid, Zoya Pippa and Zoya Darcy.
I went with a more simplified version because you can only paint so much on a fingernail and I just don’t think I have the patience that all of those other amazing nail artists out there have. The trick to this painting is to do quick strokes.
Fun fact: In high school I took an AP Art History class and our final was to replicate a painting on the wall of the classroom or another part of school. So, I replicated this painting in full detail, so if you go to Los Amigos and Mr. Trotter is still teaching, that Starry Night replica is by my friend and I.
