31 Day Challenge: Rainbow

Can I just say how much I love this mani? I’m a total newb at nail art and to be honest, I desperately need a clean up brush because my painting skills are a hit and miss haha.

When I was taking a look at the prompts for this challenge and saw “rainbow,” I knew what I had to do. I asked Jo of Lacquer Lust if I could use her newest micro glitter jellies.

Colors used: Lacquer Lust Forbidden Fruit, Cutie, Goldie’s Locks, Poison Ivy, Frozen in Time, Blue in the Face and You’re Graping Me Crazy.

To do these, use the syrup gradient technique from Polish Insomniac. Since the polishes are jellies, they blend together easily and so you don’t need a sponge or any special materials to create a gradient. To do syrup gradient nails, paint thin layers, starting from roughly one-half to one-third of the nail (since I also did a three color gradient) and continue painting thin layers, starting a bit lower each time (or higher, if it’s towards the cuticle), this will concentrate the color to make it more vibrant. Be sure to overlap the colors too to help the colors blend together.
